Services provided by our nurses
- Nurse home visits. Scheduled visits for medication administration, monitoring, and check-ins, up to twice a day where required.
- Injections within scope. Support with injectable medications such as insulin and heparin, given at home or in the pharmacy.
- Post-surgical care. Support for patients recovering at home after surgery, including medication management and monitoring during recovery.
- Wound care. Wound care support within the nursing scope of practice, coordinated with the patient's physician or home care team.
Injection services by our pharmacy
Insulin injection services by pharmacy nurses are one of the most common reasons families call us: a parent who can no longer manage their own insulin can have doses given at home on a reliable schedule, with blood sugar checked at the same visit. The same applies to other injections within nursing scope, such as heparin, arranged with the prescriber.
How nursing services connect to the pharmacy
Because our nurses work directly with our pharmacists, medication questions that come up during a visit are resolved quickly. Observations from each visit are documented and shared with the care team, and medication changes are reflected in the patient's compliance packaging within 24 hours.
Arranging nursing services
Nursing services are arranged through the pharmacy after a pharmacist assessment. Call (604) 770-2030 to discuss what is available for you or your family member, or refer a patient using our referral process.
